Hi, I’m Jay Cohen from Blass Law. And I want to talk about what happens in an ALR hearing.
ALR stands for Administrative License Revocation. This is the hearing you need if you were arrested for DWI and you either failed a breath or blood test, or you refused to give a specimen of your breath or blood. It’s time sensitive. You’ve got 15 days from the date of arrest to request this hearing.
If you’re late, you’re screwed. There are two main reasons to request a hearing. One is to try to keep your license from being suspended. But two, it’s a goldmine for discovery. We get to subpoena the officers to the hearing. And then at that hearing, under oath, I get to question them about every single thing that led up to the stop and arrest in your case.
And this is before the prosecutor has helped them remember what happened. So they’re typically more honest. This is time sensitive stuff. So don’t delay.
Call us at Blass Law. We’ll save your ass.
